The scholarship is a contribution provided in the form of financial aid and services and reserved for students enrolled or intending to enrol on degree courses at the University of Cagliari, on specialisation courses required to practise a profession (with the exception of courses in the medical field, as per Legislative Decree no. 368 of 4 August 1999), PhD programs, courses at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Sardinia and the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (Cagliari campus), the State Music Conservatory of Cagliari, and the Verbum Higher School for Linguistic Mediators.
The scholarship is awarded through a competition process based on specific income and academic achievement requirements. The amount awarded varies depending on the student's economic standing and living situation (on campus, commuting, or off campus). The scholarship, provided in the form of services, also includes the use of the catering service and accommodation, if requested.
The call for competition for scholarships and accommodation applications is generally published between the end of June and beginning of July. The competition is timed so that the benefits are awarded to students enrolled or about to enrol on degree courses at the start of the academic year.
Students eligible for the scholarship are exempt from paying university fees and the regional tax for the right to university study. Students who graduate within the prescribed time frame are also entitled to the graduation award in addition to the scholarship received in the final year of the course, provided they were recipients of an ERSU (regional body for right to study) scholarship in the academic year of their graduation.
Students residing off campus may submit a request the allocation of accommodation places in student halls of residence.
